A Hallmark Inspired Winter Engagement Session in Corning, New York
When Linza described her vision for their engagement portraits, she imagined something that felt like a Hallmark Christmas movie mixed with a 1990s romantic comedy.
She wanted Christmas lights, movement, laughter, and photographs that showed the genuine friendship at the center of her relationship with James.
Linza and James were high school sweethearts who went their separate ways before inevitably finding their way back to one another. Their story already felt like a movie. We simply needed to choose a setting that could help us tell it.
Christmas on Market Street
We photographed their winter engagement session on historic Market Street in Corning, New York.
During the holiday season, downtown Corning and the Gaffer District are filled with glowing trees, decorated storefronts, and the nostalgic atmosphere of Crystal City Christmas. The same area is also known for local traditions such as the Parade of Lights and Sparkle, which transforms Market Street into a Christmas market beneath thousands of lights. For Linza and James, it was the perfect backdrop.
We incorporated recognizable Corning landmarks including Aniello’s Pizzeria and the Palace Theatre. These locations gave the photographs personality and made the session feel connected to a place they could actually revisit. Instead of using one pretty background for every image, we walked through downtown, explored the lights, and allowed the evening to unfold like scenes from a film.

My style blends fine art portraiture with editorial and film inspired storytelling. I guide couples through posing and movement while leaving room for real expressions and unexpected moments. The final photographs are thoughtfully composed and polished, but they should still feel recognizable as you.
